Theories and Practices of Real Estate
Appraisal For Property Taxation
 

 

Date: September 19 - 23, 2005
Venue: Nanjing, Jiangsu Province, PRC
Objectives: The main objective of the training course is to discuss Mass Appraisal systems for valuing land and buildings for property tax purposes and explore the extent to which these approaches could be applied in China.  The program has two major components.  First, there will be three days of lectures on detailed procedures for setting up Mass Appraisal systems.  These lectures will cover the basic concepts of Mass Appraisal, real estate markets and modeling.  Second, there will be a 2-day seminar on the technical issues related to choices of modeling approaches for Mass Appraisal, assessment evaluation, data management, GIS application and preconditions for property assessment reform.  The seminar is designed for stimulating open discussions between the faculty and participants on specific policy issues.
